The Montclair Cooperative School (65 Chestnut St.) is hosting its
family-fun Spring 2013 Open Chess Tournament on June 16. All students
from any school in grades K-8 are eligible to compete in this unrated,
five-round Swiss tournament (G/15). There will be two sections: Sec. I
for grades K-3 and Sec.II for grades 4-8. Trophies and ribbons will be
awarded to top place finishers in each section. Early registration fee
is $25 per player (fee must be received no later than June 13) or $30
per player at the door. Doors open at 8 a.m.; first round begins at 9
