The Student Life Center is near Parking Lots 6 and 7,
approximately one mile from Garden State Parkway Exit 109A.

By Train: Take the NJ Transit North Jersey Coast Line
to Red Bank Station, approximately four miles from the venue.

Sections

Separate sections are offered for Kindergarten through Grade 12.
Players must compete in the section corresponding exactly to their
school grade at the time of the tournament.

Registration

Advance online registration is strongly recommended.

Current US Chess membership is required.
Every player must have a current United States Chess Federation
membership in order to participate.

Players whose membership has expired, or who have never been US Chess
members, should join or renew through US Chess before completing the
tournament registration form.

Prizes

Trophies will be awarded to the top 10 individual players
and top three school teams in each section.

School Team Competition

A team consists of two or more players in the same section who attend
the same school for their academic education.

Students who attend the same extracurricular chess academy or chess club
are not considered teammates for this event unless they
also attend the same academic school.

A team’s score is equal to the sum of the
four highest individual scores earned by players on
that team in the section. If the team has four or fewer players,
all of its players’ scores count toward the team score.

Byes, Equipment & Notes

Half-Point Byes

Players may take one half-point bye during the
tournament. A half-point bye may be taken in any round except
Round 5.

A bye must be requested, in writing, no later than one hour before the round.

Equipment

Boards and chess sets will be provided.
Players should bring their own chess clocks.
