During the upcoming 2026 US Amateur Team East (World Amateur Team Championship), the US Chess Trust will award electronic chess clocks to sponsors or trainers of Title I US schools. The clocks are donated by Jonathan Chen of the Kindness On Board Foundation. A sign-up sheet will be available at the organizer’s table outside the main playing hall. The number of clocks awarded will depend on the number of students in your program. Clocks will be awarded while supply lasts.

Morris/Essex train to Morris Plains (1.5 miles—take Uber).

Open to 4-player teams with one optional alternate.
Team average (4 highest ratings—January 2026 Rating list used for ALL players—absolutely no exceptions) must be under 2200.
Teams rated over 2000 average no more than 1000 points between boards 3 and 4.
No more than two GMs on a team.

Advance registration only—no on-site registration.

Any changes at site or after entering: $30 charge
Refunds after 1/25/26: $100 surcharge
No refunds after 2/5/26

Special categories: Mixed Doubles, Seniors, Military, Company, Coaches, All-Female, Family, State Teams (Benjamin Award), Future Team (all under 10), Military College, Parent/Child.
Individual Awards: Best Player 1–4, Top Alternate, All 6-0 scores (clock), Biggest Upset each round (engraved Cross pen).
Special Fun Awards: Best “Chess-related” team name (entry fee refund), Best “Chess costumes/gimmick” (Gourmet dinners for four).

Schedule

Rounds: Sat 1:00 & 7:30, Sun 11 & 6, Mon 9 & 3:30.
Surprises and giveaways each round.
Sunday night Bughouse: $25/team, cash entry, cash prizes.
